(1978) Brazilian production with English subtitles; back in 1978, 20th Century Fox sued Renato Aragao Productions to keep this film from getting released, but Fox only succeed in having the title changed from GUERRA NAS ESTRELAS (STAR WARS) to GUERRA DOS PLANETAS (PLANET WARS), however the company was still bold enough to state "BASEADO NO FILME GUERRA NAS ESTRELAS" (based on the motion picture STAR WARS) in the credits! this incredibly awful film took a month to prepare, shoot and edit... then it was rushed into Brazilian theaters five months before STAR WARS got released; This movie turned into a surprise South American smash; directed by Adriano Stuart; a Darth Vader-like villain, a Chewbacca-like creature (plus others from the series), not to mention a kung-fu fighting prince and intergalactic disco dancing! originally shot-on-video then converted to 35 mm! {the visual quality of this print is rated as A}
